This newest addition to the Disneyland experience is aimed more towards teens and adults and features three "lands" all with different themes reflecting the Californian dream. The Hollywood pictures Backlot offers a comedic view of the entire film industry and the entire complex portrays a Disney perspective of the Hollywood film industry. Muppet vision 3d shows Jim Hensons Kermet the frog Miss Piggy and all the rest in a tribute to the art of movie making. The main ride in this area is Soarin Over California which takes you on a journey over the landscape of California. The journey comes in the form of a simulated hang-glider ride which has the added effects of wind currents and smells of the land below. Taking visitors back to way parks used to be is the giant Sun wheel and king tritons Carousel. This area is known as Paradise Pier and although it is a more low key affair than its surrounding neighbours it is still worth visiting here where Ferris wheels and parachute rides rule. |
